The folks who built the Tower of Babel tried the make a name for themselves, without God’s help. They thought they had the technology to do it themselves. God Came Down and it didn’t turn out so well for them in Genesis 11. In Genesis 12, God gave Abram a new name, “Abraham,” and God made his name great.
So, why did God oppose the Babelites and honor Abe?
